Fleeting Expression is an interactive audiovisual installation that investigates micro-expressions as involuntary signals of concealed emotion. Micro-expressions are brief, unconscious facial movements that reveal emotional states individuals attempt to suppress.

Drawing from psychological research and real-world communication experience, the project focuses on the unstable boundary between truth and deception. Using real-time face detection and facial muscle analysis, expressions associated with seven core emotions are translated into dynamic visual systems composed of color gradients, generative forms, and layered imagery.

Rather than presenting emotion as fixed or readable, the installation frames perception as an active process shaped by time, bodily presence, and system response. Meaning emerges through fleeting moments where emotional truth briefly surfaces beyond conscious control.
